What Others Say About the Enneagram Coaching with Joan
My biggest takeaways from Enneagram Coaching have been not only learning to identify my core values & unique giftings, but also finding ways to "savor and celebrate" (one of my favorite Joan-phrases!) them as I partner with God in my everyday life. I am grateful to be empowered with new insight into who I truly am, and am finally starting to agree with God's assessment that I am wonderfully made!
-Allison, Real Estate Agent from Virginia
My Enneagram coaching time with Joan was valuable, affirming, and eye opening for me in my roles as dad, friend, and pastor. As we interacted, not once did I feel judged or defensive about what I learned about my Enneagram assessment scores. Because of our coaching together, I believe that I now lead and pastor from a deeper place of self-awareness and with more appreciation for others’ unique styles.
-Juno Smalley, Lead Pastor, Southern California
The Enneagram Coaching has been very insightful... more than I ever imagined it would. I appreciate that it doesn't merely put me in the 'Negative Enneagram Box". For years I focused on all the things I thought were wrong with me. Now I'm invited to look to the virtues of Christ and how these virtues can increase in me as I trust Him.
- Sue, Spiritual Director, Bookkeeper and fun grandma to ten in MN
For years I saw myself merely as an Enneagram Three with a Two wing and in so doing I focused primarily on my negatives such as “performing to impress or for the approval of others”. I could not forgive myself. With Joan’s coaching on how to access the love and acceptance of God, I came to embrace my positives (like my people and leadership skills, and helping a group come together around a common vision, for example.) I’m grateful that I no longer define my identity only in recognition of my work and accomplishments. Now I am able to “live freely as God’s beloved and serve in his easy yoke!” (John 3:16, Matt 11:28)
-Helen Steinkamp, Spiritual Direction and Ministry Leader
As a Ministry Director and active learner, I’ve read multiple books about temperament and taken other enneagram evaluations. What’s unique about Joan’s process is incorporating the Triune God, partnering with Him to discover creative and powerful ways for living out my unique temperament and guiding me in putting to rest unfruitful behaviors and responses to life’s circumstances. This approach remains integral in my transformative growth and changes.
-Annie Wolf, Ministry Director at a local church Christian Group Coach Facilitator
I really was encouraged that my scores were quite diverse within this WEPSS assessment. I’ve always appreciated other's creativity, God’s creativity, and smiled at how my presentations at work, in my cooking, homemaking, and other areas are pleasing to the eye. Scoring higher in this area pleased me. It gives me hope to keep pursuing “beautiful things” that I can create, tell a story about, or admire as I give God Glory. The Enneagram Coaching with the emphasis of Virtues vs. Personality was my biggest take away. We all fall short and often times battle our ‘ego’ or as learned via David Wu, the deadly sins. I’m grateful that I have the tools through scripture, prayer, spiritual direction, and friendship with Christ-followers, to get my attention and talents back in tune with God’s Will and operate in emotional, spiritual, and physical joyfulness.
-Janice, Career Woman and Bible Teacher/Group Facilitator
The enneagram coaching affirmed for me that I am more than my one 'preferred type'. Also, I'm encouraged to view the wisdom-virtues of my primary type as beyond merely 'boring and academic'. I am now noticing the beauty in my Enneagram type: my desire to share with others my knowledge, writing, and editing. Enneagram Coaching helps me notice these sweet God-affirmations as part of my on-going journey to continued intimacy with Him.
