Devotions for Little Boys and Girls (to share with your children & grandchildren!)

Old Testament

Picture
"Now I lay me down to sleep. . ." and "God is great; God is good. . ." The prayers of childhood can be important stepping-stones to deeper communication with God. However, these short and simple devotions will prove to be beneficial as you help your children discover the importance and joy in spending time with God beyond the mumbled prayer at bedtime.

Each of these 96 one-page devotions include a child-friendly story from the Bible or a current-day real-life child's story. In addition there are follow-up questions, suggested activities a prayer, a pencil drawing for the child to color, and a blank for the child to write in their own name. There are stories from Genesis to Malachi.

They are also great for homeschool families, co-ops & preschool teachers!

Devotions for Little Boys and Girls contains guidelines to use in structuring a devotional time with your children or grandchildren. Each devotion includes a Scripture to discuss, an activity to help them remember what they have learned, and a prayer thanking God for how He worked in the lives of the Bible people and for how He cares to us today.

Each of these 96 one-page devotions include a child-friendly story from the Bible or a current-day real-life child's story. There are stories from Matthew through Revelation.

What is God Like?

What is God like? He is good and He loves you and your child!
Children ask many questions. Sometimes the inquiries are about God and spiritual matters. They want to know who God is and what he does. While some questions are easy to answer, others may require a search. This book simplifies the search and helps you and the children you love understand the character and personality of our Creator. It makes the teaching task more fun and less burdensome.

Jesus and His Friends

Picture
Jesus is the young child's friend. While he was here on earth, he expressed love and concern for the welfare of children. He valued the simple faith of a child and encouraged adults to nurture and protect that faith.

When caring parents, grandparents and teachers share the message of Jesus, they introduce their children to God and his plan for life. These 96 one-page devotions include stories about Jesus' Bible-times friends as well as stories about contemporary children who are friends with Jesus.

A Personal Note from Joan

Picture
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Teachers!

When our son Rich was three years old and our daughter Lynnette was six years old, I searched for a book that I could read to them each night. I wanted the book to have short, simple stories based on biblical concepts. I wished for contemporary illustrations of the stories. Not scary pictures of angry bearded prophets, but drawings the kids could identify with. My desire was to help them learn how the God-given truths of the Bible related to their lives. Although I didn't find what I wanted, I continued to read and tell them Bible stories.

This four-book series, Devotions for Little Boys and Girls, is an outgrowth of my original search. These books are intended for young children three to six years old. However, through the years, I've heard from the older brothers and sisters ages 9-11 who keep the book/s on their night stand and read them to their younger siblings. Also, many preschool and Sunday School teachers, as well as homeschool families have enjoyed sharing the stories, activities, Bible verses, and prayers.

Sadly, the four books are out of print at the current time. However, by clicking here, you can go to my Amazon bookstore and notice that you can still buy all four Devotions for Little Boys and Girls in both new and used books (most with no marks at all.)

I hope you and your child, grandchildren or students have fun reading these stories together and that they help initiate a lifelong relationship with God.

Blessings,
Joan C. Webb
