Burnout can occur when you adopt unrealistic expectations and strive for perfection in your work, relationships, bodies, emotions, churches, and even faith instead of excellence.
For those of us who try too hard to make it just right, it's often helpful to see the difference between perfectionism and partnering with God for excellence. Click above to view the Relief of Imperfection Clarifying Chart. |

Click on the Feelings Chart link above to help you put words to your feelings and emotions at any given time. (Thoughts and feelings are different. When determining your current emotions say, "I feel _________" and then fill in the blank with a word from the list. Since some of us aren't used to admitting our feelings, it might take practice.) |
No doubt about it: Coaching works! I believe that the skills I've learned in coaches training and implemented with my clients can be adapted effectively for use in Women's [and Men's] Ministry programs at the local church level and in parachurch settings.
Click on the above link to read an article titled, "Coaching Works! Using Life Coaching Skills to Mentor Women in the Church." This e-book is a revised and updated version of a paper I wrote for a Ministry Certification I received several years ago. |
