A Pretty World

(This week's children's devo from Genesis 1:26-31; 2:7-14)

The skies and the earth belong to you. You made the world and everything in it. Psalm 89:11

God loves pretty things. Do you? When God created the world He made everything beautiful. One morning the sun came up and sparkled like diamonds on the water.

He made bright red apples and pointy yellow bananas to grow on tall trees. And a daddy lion to play with his baby cubs and fuzzy little ducklings to follow behind a proud mommy duck. The man God created watched and smiled. "I love it, God!" he said, "It's all very pretty."
"I made it for you and me to enjoy," said God. "So have fun. Be kind to the animals. Eat the vegetables and fruits. And share all the beauty with your children."
_____________________________, God loves all the beautiful things he designed. He is pleased when we stop working and hurrying and watching TV for awhile so that we can enjoy every lovely things he made.

QUESTIONS:
  1. Who loves pretty things? (God, you, your child.)
  2. What pleases God? (When we stop to enjoy every lovely thing God made."
ACTIVITIES:
  1. Name a few animals that you might see this week.
  2. Discuss what your family might do to help take care of the pretty world that God made.
PRAYER:
Dear God, I know you love beautiful things. So do I. You made a pretty world. Help me enjoy it and take care of it. Amen.
