(I invite you to share this children's story with your kids during a family devotion time. I wrote it for my Devotions for Little Boys and Girls book and based it on Genesis 1:26-31; 2:7-14. Idea: In the blank, fill in your child/children's name.) Pretty World. Yummy Food. Fun Animals. The skies and the earth belong to you. You made the world and everything in it. Psalm 89:11 God loves pretty things. Do you? When God created the world He made everything beautiful. One morning the sun came up and sparkled like diamonds on the water. Then He made bright red apples and pointy yellow bananas to grow on tall trees. And a daddy lion to play with his baby cubs and all colors of ducks to waddle on the ground and swim in the water. The man God created watched and smiled. "I love it, God!" he said, "It's all very pretty." "I made it for you and me to enjoy," said God. "So have fun. Be kind to the animals. Eat the vegetables and fruits. And share all the beauty with the children I will give you." _____________________________, God loves all the beautiful things he designed. He is pleased when we stop working and hurrying and watching TV for awhile so that we can enjoy every lovely thing he made. QUESTIONS:
Dear God, I know you love beautiful things. So do I. You made a pretty world. Help me enjoy it and take care of it. Amen. |
